Jeri has provided the following note and information:
“The proposed 40 ACRE site is not far from (behind) Mill Pond, in between Davies Sand & Gravel and Lafarge. If you are concerned, please make your views known to City Council prior to the Public Hearing to be held on Monday, January 21, 2013, 6:30pm at City Hall and/or attend the Hearing (Council Meeting).
If you are unable to attend, you may send a written submission, including your name and address, to the attention of Paul Gipps, Deputy Chief Administrative Officer or email info@mission.ca by 4:00pm on the date of the Public Hearing.
All submissions will form part of the record of the Hearing. PLEASE NOTE THAT NO FURTHER INFORMATION OR SUBMISSIONS CAN BE CONSIDERED BY COUNCIL AFTER THE CONCLUSION OF THE PUBLIC HEARING.

The District is recommending that Council authorize the rezoning.
There is an advertisement regarding the Public Hearing printed in yesterday’s Mission City Record (City Pages), see page 19 (see image below) of their online e-edition. http://www.missioncityrecord.
I am concerned at the possibility of Steelhead turning into another Deroche, where the citizens there are dealing with ongoing noise pollution, dust and ill (health) effects of way too many gravel pits. (Google “Deroche Gravel Pits” for more info.)”
